Lily Bui is a wandering musician whose whereabouts are usually a mystery.
Age of Exploration, her sophomore album, is a collection of songs about places, transit, and adventure. From the virgin beaches of Cozumel to the beginning of space and time, Lily Bee acts as tour guide to the world around us as well as the world within us. Like her first album Daydream at Midnight, it is an island-pop, folk, and jazz fusion of original tunes that are nostalgic, romantic and lighthearted all at once. The album is a reminder to dig deep, to live poetically, to daydream, and to take another look at life, on the bright side.
Lily has done performances across the U.S., with notable venues including spaces such as the Ford Amphitheater in Los Angeles, the White House Department of the Interior, and the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.
In past lives, she has produced science stories for public radio, organized citizen science projects, completed a full marathon; written and directed a musical; worked for a ghostwriter; been the coordinator of a hip-hop dance team; worked on Capitol Hill, and served in AmeriCorps.
At the moment, she is a student at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) . You can read more about her other lives here.
